As we are all aware it is COLD!!! And all indications are that the gas prices will be HIGH! With that in mind we are providing the following list of agencies that may be able to provide help with utility bills. Please call them if gas bills become a problem.
Project Deserve: Provides emergency energy assistance for elderly & disabled persons. Contact the Red Cross.
Heat Share: Provides assistance with heating & cooling bills. Contact the Salvation Army
Kansas Low Income Energy Assistance Program: Assists qualifying households with the payment of a portion of heating bills. Contact 800-432-0043
Kansas Housing Resources Corp Weatherization Program: If anyone in the household has received TANF or SSI in the last twelve months, the household automatically qualifies. The target groups for this program are households including persons who are elderly, persons with disabilities and families with children. Contact 785-296-4990.
Kansas Weatherization Assistance Program: Contact 800-752-4422

HeatShare: Provides payments toward heating and air conditioning bills and can go toward electricity, natural gas, propane, fuel oil or wood bills. Where sufficient funds are available, grants are available for emergency repairs to furnaces, air conditioners, hot water heaters and other energy related equipment. Assistance may also be available for repairs to broken windows and doors. The elderly and disabled are given priority where funds are limited. 1-800-336-4547
